2 out of 5 stars Front Cover Photograph.   July 8, 2010

I want to build the craftsman style benches on the front. NOPE. No plans is this book. Just another frustrating tease. Are these bench plans some big secret?

5 out of 5 stars Cool book   May 13, 2010

I had someone else build my deck, but they did everything according to the book

5 out of 5 stars Deck Building   April 8, 2010
Maciej Kawalkowski (USA, PA)
Great book that will give you a lot to think about and some details on how to build your deck. Do not expect that it will cover everything and every little detail but it was very helpful to me and gave me confidance in what I was doing. I ended up building a split tier deck attached to the house of a surface area of 480ft with built in benches and planters. Could not do it without the book.

3 out of 5 stars My husband didn't even read it   February 2, 2010

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He flipped through it and it has sat on the shelf ever since. He didn't use one single idea out of the book. I'd suggest saving the money and spending more time on your own detailed plans. We couldn't really take any of the plans/ideas from the book and make them work for our situation. However, there were lots of pretty pictures. I suppose you could buy this just for inspiration. Then again, you could just Google "decks" and get a lot of ideas that way, too.

1 out of 5 stars Azek Decking problems and horrible customer support   August 29, 2009

This company is a real joke they come out with these new colors and did not do any product testing of the material. the tiger fastner systems do not work, They did not do any type of product development. The sales rep for the company came out and blamed the fastener company. the fastener company blames the decking company. Well you know how it ended up. Then the rep says Azek coming out with new railing colors. Too bad not for another year. So basically had to tell the customer wait til next year. This company is so screwed up and the company to make matters worse doesn't even answer the phone when you call. My suggestion not worth the hassle and problems you will have with customer stay away from this company
